About the Artist

Kim Hearon paints in water media on paper. She paints a variety of subjects and styles from traditional to abstract. She is most noted for her abstract works that are expressive, lyrical, and rich in texture.

“As an artist I create works that capture the emotional mood of the moment. I try to recreate the atmospheric experience of a place or time. I am inspired by music, poetic verse, and natural landscapes. 

Kim holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Painting and Drawing from Southern Oregon University. She is active in the Southern Oregon arts community. For eleven years she was the executive director of the Rogue Valley Art Association which oversees the Rogue Gallery & Art Center. She was on the staff with the Schneider Museum of Art for five years. She lives in an area surrounded by landscapes that include rugged coastlines, majestic forests, and high deserts, which are frequently reflected abstractly in her artwork.
